On June 21, 2022, Kim Kardashian launched her debut skincare line SKKN BY KIM. The brand is another addition to Kardashian’s business empire, which already includes her successful line of shapewear, Skims.

While some fans have raved about the new skincare line, which includes a cleanser, toner, serums, creams, oils, exfoliators, and more, others weren’t impressed by the beauty line.

Bethenny Frankel, who rose to fame on the Bravo series The Real Housewives of New York City, took to social media to give an honest review of SKKN BY KIM. In her review, Frankel called the line “impractical at best” after sampling Kardashian’s eye cream and exfoliator.

Kim Kardashian’s fans are fiercely protective of their idol, but pressure from the masses didn’t stop Frankel from speaking her mind on America’s most famous figure. Along with calling out the Kardashian family for their negative influence on young people, she has confirmed that she’s “proud” of her honest review and won’t back down from her initial comments.

What Bethenny Frankel Said About Kim Kardashian’s Skincare Line

In her review of SKKN BY KIM, Bethenny Frankel took issue with the round design of the eye cream, calling it bulbous and telling her followers that she didn’t understand the product because it “doesn’t stack.”

“I don’t have a circular house or medicine cabinet,” she explained. “It doesn’t even have a flat bottom, so it’s effectively like an egg.”

Frankel also noted that the exfoliator didn’t appear to be travel-friendly due to its larger size: “You have to be a billionaire to use this product, because if you don’t have a private plane, how are you traveling with this? It’s just not practical.”

To summarize her feelings about the line at the end of the two-minute video, Frankel concluded, “Is it worth the money they’re charging? Unlikely.”

TikTok users were appreciative of the frank review, with one user telling Frankel that she had saved them money. In total, there were nearly 2,000 comments left under Frankel’s video.

Bethenny Frankel’s Issue With Kim Kardashian’s Business Advice For Women

Her review of SKKN BY KIM wasn’t the first time that Bethenny Frankel has been critical of Kim Kardashian. Back in March 2022, Kardashian made waves when she shared some controversial business advice for women looking to be successful.

“Get your f------ a-- up and work,” Kardashian advised. “It seems like nobody wants to work these days.”

The advice was widely criticized for failing to acknowledge the inherent privileges that have helped Kardashian achieve her meteoric level of success, even though she no doubt works hard. Critics took to social media to voice their opinions, with one Twitter user shouting out, “Kimberly, you wouldn’t survive 20 minutes working retail.”

“It’s true that Kim Kardashian works hard,” The Daily Show tweeted. “But you know who else works hard? Most women.”

Frankel was one listener who wasn’t thrilled to hear Kardashian’s suggestion, slamming the comments as tone deaf.

In particular, Frankel felt Kardashian’s advice was inappropriate given the state of international politics at the time, including the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

“When comments like this are made it provokes people and it provokes moms and women,” Frankel said (via Cheat Sheet). “And it’s also not only during a worldwide pandemic where people’s salaries have drastically been affected.”

Frankel added “not everybody has an e-commerce platform”, alluding to Kardashian’s business model. “Not everybody can become very, very wealthy and make billions of dollars and their business is about e-commerce when everybody is sitting home on their a--.”

The reality star then shared that she didn’t believe Kardashian would recover from the comments quickly, even though others will less influence than her would likely be canceled for the same sentiments.

“So I don’t know that this Kim Kardashian comment will go away very quickly,” she stated. “I think that that’s going to leave a mark. I think that certain other members of the Kardashian family will have other massive events and make-ups and break-ups and babies and launches."

“And I’m sure the Kardashians will make a big donation to some philanthropic organization or some women’s organization, and something great will happen to come of this comment,” Frankel predicted.
