According to reports, Tim Kratochvil died after a medical emergency last night. Pawnee High School Superintendent and Principal Passed Away – Tim Kratochvil, the cherished Superintendent and Principal of Pawnee High School, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 22, 2023, at the age of 49, leaving the Springfield, Illinois, community in deep sorrow. Kratochvil’s sudden and unexpected passing has left his friends, Family, colleagues, and the community as a whole in shock.

Tim Kratochvil life

Tim Kratochvil was the Superintendent and High School Principal at Pawnee High School in Springfield, Illinois. He graduated from Southern Illinois University and the University of Illinois Springfield. Tim was a long-term coach at the institute.

Before he worked as Superintendent, he was a social science teacher at the Genoa Kingston Community Unit School District 424 and Taylorville High School. He was also a Junior High/High School Principal at Pawnee Community School District.

Tim was a native of Mount Olive. He excelled as a baseball player at SIU Carbondale and spent two seasons in the minor leagues with the Boston Red Sox. He departed to pursue his career in education and coaching, spending the previous 12 years at Taylorville High School.

According to reports, Newspaper archives show that USA Today considered Kratochvil one of the county’s top 22 catchers when he graduated from Mount Olive High School in 1992. He participated in football and basketball for four years and earned four letters. Tim was Carbondale’s all-time batting leader, setting marks in doubles, home runs, and RBIs. He spent two years in the Boston organization as a catcher.
